READ THE RESET
Separate temporary progress from permanent benefit.
Idle games use names such as prestige, ascension and rebirth for resets, but the mechanics differ. Read the actual confirmation screen. List what disappears, what persists and what new currency or multiplier you receive.
A reset can be valuable when it makes future progress meaningfully faster or opens a new decision. It can feel wasteful when you surrender a long run for a reward that barely changes anything. The useful comparison is between two future paths: continuing from here or rebuilding with the offered benefit.
RECOVERY EXAMPLE
Estimate recovery rather than chasing a round number.
Suppose your current run needs roughly three more hours to reach the next meaningful unlock. A reset might take one hour to rebuild to the current point and another hour to reach that unlock with the new benefit. That makes resetting worth considering. If rebuilding would take four hours, continuing could fit the goal better.
These numbers illustrate the comparison; they are not Pocket Cult balance values. Early estimates will be uncertain. After a reset, record how long recovery actually took so the next decision has better evidence. Count the time and attention you are willing to spend, not only theoretical production.

RESET CHECKLIST
Ask four questions before confirming.
- What exactly do I lose, and what do I retain?
- What practical improvement will the reward buy?
- How will I rebuild differently this time?
- Does that plan fit the amount of play I want today?
If the answer to the third question is “repeat everything with no new choice,” the reset may still be efficient, but it may not be enjoyable. You are allowed to choose a pace that fits your interest. Incremental optimization is a game activity, not an obligation.
POCKET CULT ASCENSION
Apply the method to Pocket Cult’s Corruption loop.
Pocket Cult’s listing describes ascension as a dungeon reset that awards Corruption for stronger future runs. Use its current preview and upgrade descriptions as the authority for the specific reward and retained progress.
There is no fixed “always ascend at this number” recommendation here because a reliable threshold would require current game-state and balance evidence. Compare the offered benefit with your bottleneck and rebuild plan. If you are still learning production, minion upkeep or defense, understanding those systems may be more useful than resetting immediately.

When Should You Prestige in an Idle Game?, briefly.
Not automatically. Compare the reward, what you lose and how long rebuilding is likely to take for your next goal.
This guide does not establish one. Use the current game preview and your actual progression rather than an unsupported fixed number.
