SEPARATE ACTIONS
A watering record does not tell you whether you fed.
If every feeding is hidden inside a generic watering entry, it becomes difficult to know whether the last application happened yesterday or weeks ago. Keep a distinct completion date for feeding, even if it took place during the same care round.
Use your own accompanying note for the product and the preparation you actually followed. Do not translate a reminder into an automatic dosage. Product concentrations differ, plants differ, and a schedule cannot observe whether the plant is currently growing or struggling.
FEEDING RECORD
Use a short record you can check before repeating.
- Plant identity and date of the completed application.
- Product name and the label instructions you followed.
- Any relevant change in plant condition or location.
- The next review date, clearly separate from completion.
For a collection, record each actual application rather than marking the whole room complete from memory. If another person cares for your plants, hand over the last confirmed date. An unknown previous treatment should remain unknown instead of being replaced with a guessed completion.

ADJUST THE PLAN
Use horticultural guidance for the feeding decision.
The RHS houseplant growing guide discusses feeding in relation to active growth and product type. Consult it or a suitable species guide alongside the fertilizer label. This page deliberately does not prescribe one concentration or interval for every houseplant.
If a plant looks unwell, adding fertilizer is not a reliable universal fix. Check its conditions and seek appropriate advice. In the log, describe what you observed rather than writing a diagnosis you have not established. That makes later review more useful.
MOSSBY FEEDING
Use a separate care task in Mossby.
Mossby supports fertilizing tasks separately from watering, misting, rotating and repotting. This lets the due list distinguish “check feeding” from “check water,” and preserves a care history when you complete the action.
The app organizes your routine; it is not a sensor or a dosing calculator. Start with the schedule appropriate to your plant and revise it when conditions or product instructions require. Record the action only after doing it, and keep any product details outside the app if the available fields do not cover your preferred record.
